Roman Catholic church? Probably as the crucifix bore the body of Christ. Plain cross in Protestant churches. And yet the Book of Common Prayer – very Anglican. I don't think the boy with five o'clock shadow will be singing treble, either.
British....wonderful, public school chapel I think....where? from the age of twelve I was regularly sucked by a priest on the steps of his church altar.
