I've received pics that are so dark, I just give up trying to figure out what it is, much less enjoying the pic. So throw some light on the subject! That brings up "the subject", the main focus of your photo or vid. Decide what that is. Let's say it's a cock shot. So make sure the cock is front and center in the frame of the camera. Make sure it's well lit... AND, make sure the light is from the right angle. Huh? Your source of light should be from the front or the side. I don't wanna get too into that, just to get you to think about where your light's coming from. One thing you should avoid tho is light from the back of your subject.
