Gay Marriage Statistics
Post Comment
<p>Last year after much debate gay marriage was legalised in my country of New Zealand.</p>
<p>Some interesting statistics have emerged which show that not only are a small number of couples actually tying the knot, but 40% or so are foreigners taking advantage of our liberal laws.</p>
<p>In the last year 209 NZ gay couples married and 146 foreign couples.</p>
<p>This is much along the lines of what I had predicted - that few people would marry when able to.</p>
<p>If you further analyse the 209 couples which did tie the knot it generally consists of 'The Usual Suspects' (loud mouthed, attention seeking, professional gay activist wankers) showing off to their friends and older gay couples who have been together for decades and have married on principle.</p>
<p>I think New Zealand gay men differ from other countries in that there is an underlying cynicism whereby because everyone is fairly shallow, promiscuous and possessing empty pockets they are smart enough to know 'the other fellow' possesses these qualities too - and therefore won't risk marriage (which is unlikely to last longer than a short honeymoon).</p>
<p>I am not a fan of either relationships or marriage as it would interfere with my sex life lol, especially living in a gay community where sex is plentiful.</p>
<p>But for those that are I simply urge guys to focus on the fundamentals - finances.</p>
<p>There is nothing worse than being broke, and it will be even worse if you are manacled to someone who is even more broke than you, so get the money side sorted first.</p>
<p>You may be prepared to live an impecunious lifestyle due to 'love' for him, but I suspect he is not all that keen on carrying you for long, so do not be surprised when you get a nasty shock as actually taking part in 'real life' supersedes 'love conquering all'.</p>
<p>Just sayin'</p>
Cocks.

Why I love GBT
Post Comment
Recently discovered with my partner that I wasn't happy just saying 'I love you'. That seemed so cliche. I've begun to tell him specifically what I like about him. Makes it more meaningful. I also love this website. There's a perfect combination of warmth, affection and support on the one hand, and the raunchiest raunch of honest conversations about sex on the other. It's what makes it one of the best gay websites on our little blue planet. So just wanted to say that here's what I specifically love about you guys: the warmth, friendliness, intelligence, playfulness, real emotion, creativity, class, style, great sense of humor, the willingness to extend real heart to anyone who needs it, the fiery emotions that sometimes cause a bit of argument along with a broadness of spirit that never holds grudges about those arguments; the willingness to talk and share the human experience; the great sense of openness about forms of pleasure and desire; the huge variety of aesthetic senses and ways of being in the world, all somehow just easily mingling and celebrating each other; the bravery of being who you are and allowing others to do the same; the sheer cheekiness and wit on display, always such a joy and often such a hysterical laugh to read; the way you all combine to create a kind of internet home for gay guys, no matter how they come here, to feel welcomed and supported - especially when you consider how so many gay sites don't offer that at all and so much of the internet is about nastiness, not warmth and support; the passion - there's just so much passion here, it's so human and awesome...... I've even come to love the way this website is all creaky floors and leaky faucets in the technical sense: somehow both annoying and charming at the same time. Anyway, love you all so much and wishing you all the best for 2015. Thanks so much for this little internet home, which I treasure. xo Brae
