Study of a Nude Man by Pierre Narcisse Guérin
This work was created by a follower of Pierre Narcisse Guérin, a French artist of the early 19th century. The same pose was captured in at least two other paintings, one of which is by Théodore Gericault. Because Gericault developed his skills in the studio of Pierre-Narcisse Guérin (1774–1833), all three paintings provide evidence of Guérin’s teaching practice.
