Posting An Image/Picture And/Or Vid To A Wall Or Blog

CQ3 Blog Last Activity 1 week ago 2.2K views 12 comments

NEW WAY TO POST AN IMAGE ON A WALL OR BLOG:

Copy and paste the image directly to the box and press post.

The image must still come from a website--not your comp, but you no longer need a URL/Image Address to post pics.

POSTING AN IMAGE/PICTURE:

1. Copy the image address (URL) from a website.

2. Click on the 3rd image from the right in the menu that looks like a mountain.

3. Post image address in the "Source" area.

4. Click on the "Image description" area.

5. Click "Ok."

6. Click "Post."

POSTING A VID TO A WALL OR BLOG:

1. Copy the embed/share code from a site. (Many, but not all, sites have embed codes for a vid. Some sites list it as "Share." This is NOT the URL.)

2. Click the "Formats" box on GBT's "POST" box.

3. Click the 2nd icon from the right next to the emoji icon.

4. Paste the embed/share code into the box that appears.

5. Click "OK."

6. Click "POST."

Practice on your wall until you get the hang of it. Msg me if you have questions.

Note: You cannot post images saved to your comp/phone; you have to UL them to a host site 1st.

When you post to a wall or blog and it doesn't show up there are two things you can do:

1. Clear your browsing history.

2. Copy the image from a website, and post it directly in the dialog box.

These methods work every time for me.

I've used both methods to post pics to walls and blogs without any problems (except forgetting which I'm using as a copied image can't be used as a substitute for a URL and vice versa).

Anyone else using the new method?

Both ways work for me.

Like you said, I've also forgotten I used COPY URL, going to the post comment and using the opposite, COPY IMAGE scenario, and vise' versa. COPY IMAGE into a COPY URL scenario. I know both work and just lose my train of thought for a second.

The problem seems to be that many aren't aware that these are two different ways of posting the same thing (an online image, not something from an offline image from a PC or other device) that requires different actions from each other.

Btw, you can also drag a photo from an online image into the Post Comment box!

Thanks for these instructions. But the following link won't post on my wall. Why?

The old instructions still work, but the newest form of posting pics is to just copy the image and post it in the box.

It is the URL generally referred to as "image address."

A link or hyperlink is generally used in messaging as I understand it.

Thank you. By "image address" I assume you are referring to what they call the "image link" which you must copy in order to past in the "source" area of the insert/edit image pop up box.

The instructions for posting vids are different but similar.
