I'd say that's a personal choice... you do whatever feels right for you. Unless you'd like to please someone special - then you might consider fulfilling his request. For me, trimmed bush (on the short side) and shaved balls works just fine. But we all might change our mind depending on what your nether regions look like. So I suggest you post a set of pictures in the "Photos" section. Once that's done, you can go back to THIS blog, post the gallery link (or insert the pics here directly), and ask the same question again. You might get different answers .
I'm approaching geezerhood, too. Have always trimmed the bush, and little closer in hot weather. I sweat a lot down there and it's tuff to stay dry . . . . now that it's more common, I tried shaving my balls - - - and WoW, it's a lot more comfortable. BONUS: turns out a lot of guys don't like a mouth full of hair, but it you're smooth you get slurped more often !!

Smooth pubic is lovely. I shave my whole body except my head and eyebrows, I do that already 30 years, and I'm older than you are.

Get used to using a good epilator. Much better than shaving where stubble is itching all the time.

personally, im not sucking a hairy dick no thank you. at the minimum it needs to be trimmed. but i prefer shaven, get that extra inch there ;)

No. You are well past the age of having to ask for opinions. When the hair starts to grow back again you will itch something terrible.
