Life?

Today I heard that they discovered 7 new earth like planets, how cool is that? I look at the night sky a lot, I see the beauty of it all, some peeps don't give it any thought. I often think how lucky "We" all are to be just going round and around flying through our solar system, our Milky Way, our Universe. How lucky we are to have a molten core churning and burning creating our electromagnetic field which by the way protects us from our Sun's deadly solar rays. Mars our moon and billions of other planets do not have this protection, we are pretty lucky. To think that if Jupiter was not out there, we would not be here. Without Jupiter we would get hit by the same asteroid impact that took out the dinosaurs at a rate of about every 100 years, life would have not evolved like you see it now. We are so lucky, very lucky to even be here.

7...... Earth like Planets. Can you imagine looking up at the night sky, seeing 6 other planets going around you? That would be so F'n Cool I think.

Sometimes takes the eyes and wonder of youth to remind us old geezers how amazing things are that we have just taken for granted for many years, as well as the many things yet to be discovered!

Thanks for sharing this here Gavin. I do find it amazing that we are still only able to think of life forms in our own image and not imagine that life could have evolved from a different set of circumstances.

Nice blog Gavin! Thanks for reminding us how lucky we are to even exist surrounded by endless wonders. Can't wait for some warm summer nights to spend star gazing. Hugs, Fred

Only 39 light years away... just a walk in the park. Three of the planets are of similar size to Earth and may be in the Goldilocks zone, which means water could exist and thus life as we know it. Awesome.
