Glad somebody else caught this story, too. http://www.gayboystube.com/blog/20442.html Last evening at the Albuquerque Pride Candlelight Vigil, I spoke with a transgender who was the spokesperson for the transgender group in attendance. He had also seen the story, and definitely cried when he saw it. One point that I had not considered was that some members of the hearing impaired community felt that Ryland's getting implants so young denied him the opportunity to fully experience life in the hearing impaired community. I acknowledged that I had not thought about that, but added that if they had not done that, he would have been lots older before he could have expressed to his parents that he is a boy.
